MILSON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Dec. 21. Although no expense was spared to make the evening a pleasant ono for all concerned, indications point to the financial success of the recent breaking-up ceremony held in the Milson Hall. Tins satisfactory result was directly duo to the splendid support accorded the committee by tbo parents and residents of the district. The executive of the Milson Progressive Association met to discuss arrangements in connection with the gala to bo bold on New Yoar’s Eve. The secretary reported that tho services of a first-class orchestra had been secured. The catering committee reported that satisfactory prices bad boen obtained and all arrangements finalised. tion are to bo advertised in tho “Standard” of December 30. Mrs E. Bulmcr loft Palmerston North to-day on a holiday visit to tho South Island. She is accompanied by hor two sons, Jack and Erie. A slight improvement is noled in tho condition of Mr S. Pepper, who has been on the sick list for some months.
The work of improving tho footpaths at Milson, which is being carried out under the No. 5 unemployment scheme, is making fair progress. The co-operation of householders will make this improvement a permanent ono. The Unemployment Board having granted all relief workers two complcto weeks’ holiday, no further work will be done at Milson until the New Year.
