(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANDON, Dec. 22. The members of tho Women’s Instituto extended an invitation to tho children of the district to meet Father Christmas at the Public Hall on Wednesday evening. About 80 children sat down for tea and did full justice to tho good things provided. Games wore played for a short interval, until tho arrival of Father Christmas about 7.30. A _ well-laden Christmas treo had been provided and each child present—they numbered over eighty— was handed a present with a few happy words. Sweets were handed round and Father Christmas suggested that tho children should sing “Pack Up Your Troubles” and givo three cheers for tho members of the institute, a call which mot a hearty response. Mrs W. E. Pearco said they were all pleased to have a visit from Father Christmas, asid asked tho children to givo him three cheers and sing “For He’s a Jolly Good Follow.” Father Christmas returned thanks- and urged upon them not to forget tho many “Slother Christmases,” and called for three cheers for them. Tho response was a hearty ono. All returned home soon after, well pleased with tho happy evening.
