INVASION OF EMPIRE. SUGGESTED EXCLUSION. Received December 23, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 22. The Daily Telegraph gives prominence to’an article dealing with the American invasion of the Empire shipping services, including Australia and New Zealand, and says that many shipowners favour Empire consultation as to the possibility of legislation for excluding foreigners from inter-Empire routes. REPRESENTATIONS IN SYDNEY. Received December 23, 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 23. The Minister of Commerce, Mr Stewart, informed a deputation representative of the Maritime Unions that he would bring before the Government without delav the question of the competition of the Matson Lino with Australian shipping.
