BILLIARDS.
BAULK LINE RULE. LONDON, Dec. 22. AValter Lindrum, in an interview with the Daily Herald, described the baulk line in billiards as the world’s worst idea. They had given the experiment an extensive trial, and no one had gained. Attendances had fallen off considerably, and every leading professional was hundreds of pounds down compared with last year’s receipts, when records were being smashed. “The public want to witness firstclass billiards, particularly big breaks,” he said. AVhen he returned to England next year he would not play baulk line billiards.
