INCOMES IN AMERICA.
AMAZING CURTAILMENT. PROGRESSIVE DECLINE. WASHINGTON, Dec. 23. Preliminary income tax statistics fof 1931 show an amazing curtailment. Incomes were reported for last year at 13 billion dollars compared with 17 billion dollars in 1930 a.nd 25 billion dollars in 1929. Tax returns listing “speculative profits” totalled only 283 million dollars for 1931, compared with 775 million dollars in 1930 and 2044 million dollars in 1929.
