ART UNION DRAWN.

RELIEF COMMITTEE EFFORT. The drawing of the Palmerston North Central Relief Committee’s art union in aid of the committee’s funds was held at the City Council Chambers this morning under police supervision. There were present Mr A. E. Mansford, the chairman of the committee, who made the draw, Mr A. J. Phillipps (secretary), Mr P. S. Larcomb (treasurer) and Sergeant F. Culloty, representing the police. The drawing occupied 25 minutes. The prizes were all pictures donated by local artists. The following is the result of the draw: First prize.—“ Spring” (Miss J. B. Lynch), value £l2 12s, Miss Ogilvie, 16 Queen Street, No. 1398; second prize, “On the Manawatu” (Mr G. H. Elliot), value £lO 10s, Mrs E. M. Meyrick, Ridglands, Feilding, No. 2405; third prize, “The Memorial” (Miss E. J. D. Turner), value £8 Bs, Mrs A. M. Collinson, 53 North Street, No. 1154; fourth prize, “ln the Esplanade” (Mr D. W. Low), value £6 6s, Miss Blake, Linton, No. 1305; fifth prize, “The Freight Ferry” (Mill. H. Billons), value £5 ss, Mr s H. W. Bennett, Awaliuri, No. 3278; sixth prize, “Grey Day, Kelburn” (Mr H. Lin ley Ricliardson, 8.A.), value £5 os Mrs A. E. Mansford, Clraytor Street, No. 2246; seventh prize, “On the Mersey” (Mr H. Billens), value £3 3s, Mr W. H. J. Watson, c/o Hospital Board, No. 1221; eighth prize, “Head of Lake Wakatipu” (Mr J. D. Perrett), value £3 3s, Mr T. Christensen, 255 Botanical Road, No. 1533; ninth prize, “The Year’s at the Spring” (Miss M. C. Wilson), value £2 2s, Mrs 11. A. Beckett Linton, No. 1131; tenth prize, “Whither” (Miss M. C. Wilson), value £2 2s; Mrs Thompson, Tararua Street, Masterton, No. 1193.
