WELLINGTON v. OTAGO. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 24. The Weliington-Otago Shield match opened this morning in sultry and threatening weather. Badcock won the toss from Lowry and opened for Otago with Knight on a perfect wicket. In the first over Parsloe bowled Badcock after six runs had been scored. Parsloe’s second over was fatal to Knight. Two for 9. At 11.25 rain set in, causing an adjournment with the score 14 for two wickets. Details of the scores are as follow: Badcock, b Parsloe, 6; Knight, b Parsloe, 2; Cavanagh, not out, 1; Maloney, not out, 4; extra, 1; total for two wickets, 14.
