BULLS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Dec. 27.
Tho carnival concluded on Christmas Evg with tho distribution of presents to children by Father Christmas. There was a large crowd in town, and shopkeepers report first class business. Illuminations and decorations made the township look very bright. Great interest was taken in tho photographic competition, and tho first to name the photographs correctly was Mias C. Fay. The official list of names is as follows: —1, F. A. Holland; 2, J. C. Hardingo; 3, P. Larmer; 4, S. Goebel; 5, Miss Enid Cooper; 6. F. Cutts; 7, Mat. Bevan; 8, Alan Signal; 9, Stan. Howard; 10, W. A. Doughty; 11, Wm. Dean; 12, H. (“Bert”) Meads. There have been tho usual number of visitors to Bulls during tho holidays, and a number of erstwhile Bulls old spending the festive season with the “'ain folk” here. Others again have loft for various parts of the Dominion, on pleasuro bont. Mr Denis Walker (Hamilton) spent tho Christmas with his parents, Mr and Mrs j. E. Walker. Mr Viv. Broughton is up from Wellington; Mr Ray Campion, from tho Wairarapa; Messrs Ron. Flower and M. Elliott, from Wellington; and Air S. Duncum, from Napier. Mr and Mrs C 11. Edwards aro away in Now Plymouth; Mr G. H. Archer in Wellington; Mr and Mrs C. E. Bailey in Woodvillo; Mr and Mrs 11. Hendry in Masterton; and Mr and Mrs H. Stevens, in Woodvillo. Mr and Mrs F. A. Holland aro holidaying in Taranaki, and Mrs Mac. Homes in Wellington. Mr J. B. Bradley went through to New Plymouth, where he was aetingstipendiarv steward at tho Taranaki races. Mr and Mrs Albert Johns, and Mrs Price, sonr., all of Wellington, have been hero and are now at Tangimoana. Mrs E. Jackson is spending tho holidays at Moana Roa. Mr and Mrs C. C. Smith, of Wanganui, spent Christmas in Bulls, being tho guests and Mr and Mrs C. Price. Mr W. Meads, sonr., of Otorohanga, is visiting relatives here. Mr O. H. Grut has gone south. Mr Roy Mansell is to- bo congratulated on his success in a recent banking examination. Mr J. Bailey, of Flock House, went to Otorohanga for tho holidays.
