BORROWED FOR 23 YEARS.
BOOK RETURNED TO LIBRARY. A book which has been absent from the shelves of the Hoskins Memorial Institute Library, Lithgow, New South Wales, for 23 years has been returned. The volume, one of Emerson’s works, was borrowed by Mr Robert Burn, a member of the then Lithgow School of Arts, who left the town shortly afterwards. When going through some of liis effects recently, Mr Burn discovered it and forwarded it to the institution.
At a meeting of the committee it was decided, in the circumstances, not to impose the usual fine.
