FOXTON, Dec. 29. j Tho Foxton rink which was successful in tho tournament at Feilding over tho Christinas holidays (Tawliai, Heppner, Hoore and Mattar, skip) will compete at tho Dominion tournament. Four pairs from Foxton will tako part in the Manawatu Centre's pairs tournament over New Year. They are Tawliai and Howe, Christie and Mattar, Trueman and Roore, and Huntiev and Thomson. r On Easton Park on Saturday, commencing at 10.30 a.m., a cricket match will he played between tho married and the single members of tho local clubs. Marrioci : T. Fuller, E. Robinson, 11. Reid, Mohekey, S. Newth, W. Bowden, W. Thomas J. Fluff, T. Taylor, N. Clarke, T. Pitihora, G. Mounsejr, J. McGregor. Single: G. Woods, S. Stanbra, D. Wilson, W. Tho weather over tho holidays was, for the most part, fine, conditions generally being hot and sultry. As a result beaches were well patronised and there was a large crowd at the Foxton seaside. An enjoyable dance which was held in the Beach Flail on Monday evening, under the auspices of tho Foxton Tennis Club, attracted a large/crowd of holiday makers.

Mr J. F. Richie is at present incapacitated as a result of an injury received to his shoulder while on holiday at Flastings over Christmas. Miss E. Owen, of Wellington, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs R. .Owen, of Foxton. Mrs P. J. Mail's is at present confined to hor bed. Mr Wm. Trueman is , now about again after his recent indisposition.
