SUMMER TIME.

THE AMENDING BILL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 3. In moving for leave to introduce the Summer Time Amendment Bill, in the House of Representatives today, Mr R. McKeen said the object of the measure was to extend summer time to one hour and to extend its application to the third Sunday in April. Summer time had been of wonderful benefit to New Zealand, and he thought the Government should take up the Bill. He said such action would be a fitting tribute to the late Sir Thomas Sidey and a lasting monument to him. The Bill was introduced and read the first time. The second reading was set down for October 18.
