TYPES OF CHRISTIANS.
BISHOP KIRKBY’S DEFINITIONS. Hie Bishop Administrator of Sydney (Bishop Kirkby), in a lunclieon-hour address at St. Philip’s Church, defined several types of Christians who he had encountered. “Some Christians to-da.V may well be called ‘butterfly Christians,’ ” said Bishop Kirkby. “They are always flitting front place to place. Their lives appear to be very beautiful, but they are constantly changing from one denomination to another because some little detail does not please them. Then there are those who may be called thermometer and barometer Christians who always have an eye on the glass for excuses when they do not feel like going to church. It is too hot one day, and looks like rain another, and so on. And then there is the wheelbarrow Christian. The wheelbarrow moved only when shoved. The type represents the wellmeaning and often good citizen who metaphorically has to be shoved into a place of worship. One often wonders whether ultimatelv individuals like this will have to be shoved into heaven.”
