CITY BAND DANCE
One hundred couples graced the floor of the Oddfellows’ Kali last Saturday night, the occasion being the City Band’s weekly dance, when a very enjoyable evenings was spent L- all present. The programme contained several competitions which were won by the following:—Monte Carlo, Miss Gawler and Mr Scobie; luckv Gay Gordons, Mrs Eaton and Mr South; Monte Carlo, Miss E. Itielly and Mr Tiriiey; lucky door ticket, Mrs Falloon. The music was supplied bv a professional orchestra and Miss Conlan supplied several extras. Mr W. G. Williamson made an efficient M.C.
On Sunday afternoon last the members of the Palmerston North City Band rendered a delightful programme at the Hospital. It was appreciated by the inmates and the many visitors present. GARRISON BAND DANCE. Another very successful evening was held in the Garrison Band Hall on Monday, the occasion being a “mad hatters’ ” dance. There was a large number present and all had a most enjoyable time with old-time and modern dancing. Messrs Henry and Booker as M.C.’s kept things moving and there was no waste time. The floor and music, both being excellent, helped considerably to make the evening the success it was. There wore some original hats among the patrons and Miss Highfiold and Air Jones gained first prize with Miss L. Crawford and Mr Ronberg second. Miss Drury and Air L. Robert were the winners of the Monte Carlo. Air A. Honberg and Aliss J. Lampard contributed several extras.
