“YOUNG” STRIBLING.
REGRETS AT PASSING
LONDON, Oct. 4. Sporting and other circles heard the news of the boxer, W. L. Stribling’s, death with regret. He is remembered here for his fight with Camera in 1929, when the Italian giant was felled for the first time by “Young” Stribling. It was tough that the later lost the fight owing to a low blow. Then in 1930 Stribling pounded the English heavyweight, Phil Scott, into helplessness in under five minutes before an attendance of 50,000.
