STEPS FOR SETTLEMENT.

An unexpected development occurred in the fellmongers’ strike when, at the request of the men, the Deputy Registrar of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court agreed to summon a compulsory conference of the Board of Reference, constituted under the wool and basil workers’ award, to discuss proposals for a settlement of the dispute.
