KAIRANGA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) KAIRANGA, Oct. 5. Yesterday afternoon the Kairanga Tennis Club held their opening day. The weather was not idoal for tennis owing to the strong wind that was blowing, nevertheless thero was quito a good attendance of members and their friends and some very enjoyable games took place. Mr L. Lancaster, president, made a few suitable remarks, referring to t.hc good work of the retiring president (Mr D. Martin) and Mrs and Miss Martin on behalf of the Tennis Club in Kairanga. Mr Lancaster then declared the courts officially opened and wished the club every success for the coming season. A most enjoyable afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies and was much appreciated by all.
