AMENDED APPOINTMENTS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 7. It had been intended that BrigadierGeneral Sir Samuel Wilson, Permanent Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, on returning from service in November, should be succeeded by the late Sir Graeme 'Thomson, Governor of Ceylon, who had accepted the appointment and was on his way home when his death occurred. Now it has been dccidede to appomtSir John Maffey, Governor-General of the Sudan, as the successor to Sir Samuel Wilson, and he will take over the appointment toward the end of November. The King has approved the appointment of Sir Reginald Stubbs, Governor of Cyprus, to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Ceylon.
