In tlie greatest parade England has ever seen, 80,000 ex-servicemen and women gathered at Hyde Park, and were reviewed by the King, whom the majority had never seen. Rank knew no place and officers lined up with men. ... Sir lan Fraser led 200 blinded veterans. Nearly 2000 came from the Free State and Ulster, in one party, demonstrating their bond ol comradeship. . Their Majesties, after the parade, visited an enclosure where one thousand disabled soldiers were accommodated on chairs. ADDRESS BY THE KING. NEW ZEALANDERS PRESENT. Received June 28, 12 noon. LONDON, June 27. The ex-servicemen’s march-past lusted one and a-half hours. Special cheers were given lor General Gough, leading the Fifth Army. Ex-private Loversidge, of the Cyclists Battalion, carried the New Zealand (Standard before General Alex Godley, Colonels N. W. B. Thomas, N. I'. Falla, and D. B. Blair, and four exnursing sisters accompanied the New Zealanders. Hie King, addressing the parade, said: “I am happy, as patron, to be associated with the work of the great brotherhood of ex-servicemen, which, as one of the brotherhood myself, 1 have always watched with interest and sympathy. 1. feel that we can render no greater service to the human race that by convincing the world of the calamity that war becomes lor the victors " and the vanquished alike. It is for all of us to see that the wartime spirit of unselfishness and sympathy is not allowed to fade.”
