DANNEVIRKE HUNT CLUB. AUBE’S DOUBLE WIN. There were wintry conditions at Dannevirke when the Danuevirke Hunt Club held its annual fixture. The attendance exceeded expectations, and the £4226 passed through the totalisator was £924 better than last year’s total. Results : ORINGI HACK HURDLES, of £6O. One mile and a half. 6 TRACKMAN, car 9.4 (W. Grindlay) 1 3 DONEGAL, 9.11 (N. C. Trilio) ... 2 1 KENTUCKY SONG, 9.13 (H. W. Savage) 3 Also started: 7 Mercian Prince 9.10, 5 Otaki 9.7, 2 War Lap 9.6, 4 Sybil Song 9.4, 8 Pailutu ear 9.2. A head; two lengths and a half. Sybil Song was fourth. Time, 2.54 4-5. Kentucky Song, passing the stands, was closely attended by Trackman and Donegal. War Lap fell at the five furlong post, and Donegal took charge, but was passed by Trackman racing to the straight. Once over the last jump, Donegal challenged Trackman, but the latter hung on long enough to beat Donegal by a head. Mercian Prince 1011. TAICAPAU NOVICE STAKES, of £SO. Weight, 8.7. Five furlongs. 2 AUBE (G. R. Tatlcrsall) 1 3 TRIPLEX (M. Gilmore) 2 1 CLKTRAO (I>. Atkins) 3 Also started: 7 Lady Whctu, 6 Gabriel, 4 First Hand, 8 Cenotaph, 5 Scacourt.Two lengths and a half; a neck. Scacourt was fourth. Time, 1.4 4-5. From the.inside position Clctrac was actually'the first to show out, but Aube coon ran to the lead, and into the straight was followed at long intervals by Scacourt, Triplex and Clctrac. Over the last furlong Aube ran on well and eventually won by three lengths from Triplex, who was lucky to hold off the fast finishing Clctrac. DANNEVIRKE HUNT CLUB STEEPLECHASE, of £6O. About two miles and a half. 5 SLEEPY, 9.0 (W. Grindlay) 1 6 COUNT WILLONYX, car 10.0 (U. A. Zuppicich) 2 2 TANGLED, 10.13 (M. . Stewart) ... 3 Also started: 4 Doxie 10.10. 1 Cotsfield 10.9, 8 Taura Lad 9.11, 3 The Ranger 9.10. 10 Spcarson 9.0, 9 Paddy’s Lad 9.0. Four lengths; ten lengths. Cotsfield was fourth. Time, 5.9 2-5. Cotsfield, Tangled. The Ranger, and Dozic came in lor good support. Cotsfield went out as pacemaker, and over most of the journey had Tangled, The Ranger and Count Willonyx. Four furlongs from home Sleepy went up fast, anti was well clear of Tangled, Count Willonyx and Cotsfield at the last fence, and in the run to the winning post Sleepy went right away, to heat Count Willonyx by four lengths. RAKAIATAI HACK HANDICAP, of £6O. Six furlongs. 1 GLADIUM, 8.11 (S. Wilson) 1 2 LE TOUQUET, car. 8.1 (L. 11. Clifford) 2 5 PATAGONIA, 8.7 (D. Lamb) 3 Also started: 3 Okawa 8.11, 7 Kohika 8.7, 4 Marjory Daw 8.7, 8 Trybuek 8.7, 6 Sporting Gift car. B.lj. A head; two lengths. Sporting Gift was fourth. Time, 1.17 2-5. Sporting Gift, Lo Touquet, Marjory Daw and Kohika was the order oyer the first furlong, with Gladium bringing up the rear. Spoiling Gift still had charge entering the straight from Le Touquet, Marjory Daw and Gladium. The lastnamed came fast over the last furlong, but had to be hard ridden lo beat I.e Touquet by a head, while Patagonia with a late run cut Sporting Gift out. KAITOKE HACK HANDICAP, of £75. One mile and a-quartcr. 4 UMPIRE, 8.5 (C. P. Shekel) 1 2 IDDO, 8.2 (S. Wilson) •. 2 1 EVEN MONEY, 8.4 (R. W. Savage) 3 Also started: 3 Manawatu 9.0, 5 Blue Tiger 8.7, 6 Master Hector car. 7.12, 7 Koura ltua 7.11. A head; two lengths. Koura' Rua was fourth. Time, 2.15. Koura Pvua, Master Hector, Even Money and Umpire were early prominent, and racing into the straight, Even Money was just m front of Iddo and Umpire. Over the concluding stages, Iddo, Umpire and Even Money had a good battle, but Umpire ran on just too well for his opponents, but only beat Iddo by a good head, the latter weakening in the last couple of chains. Even Money was two lengths back, and Koura Ilua was a moderate fourth. AKITIO LADIES’ BRACELET, or £4O. Gentlemen riders. One mile and a quarter. 2 AUBE, 11.4 (Mr A. Plummer) ... 1 1 MISS PANGO, 11.12 (Mr Iv. McK. Duncan) 2 3 ALL SPIRIT, car, 11.12 (Mr W. Connors) 3 Also started : 7 The Drone 11.9, 6 Widden 11.7, *4 Valroy 11.0, 9 Phrenology 11.0, 8 Ythan ear. 11.13, 5 Tommy Atkins 11.0. Five lengths; a head. Time, 2.19 4-5. Aube was soon in front, and leading throughout, he ran out a very easy winner from Miss Pango, who got up in tho last few strides to beat All Spirit into third place. Tommy Atkins was some distance back fourth. GREENHILLS HACK HANDICAP, of £6O. Seven furlongs. 4 EVEN MONEY, 8.9 (R. W. Savage) . 1 2 WARE HI, 8.5 (P. Williams) ... 2 1 PATAGONIA, 8.7 (D. Lamb) 3 Also started: 3 First Chapter 8.12, 5 Master Limond 8.9, 6 Gabriel 8.0. A head; a length and a half. First Chapter was fourth. Time, 1.33 4-5. Five of the six runners were well backed, and in a good contest between Even Money, Wareln and Patagonia tile firstnamed ran on best to score a narrow victory over Warchi, who had led most of the journey.
