Y.M.C.A. HARRIERS.
AVIN FOR I. RANFORD. The Y.M.C.A. Harrier Club held a handicap run of about &t miles, commencing from the Y.M.C.A. building on Saturday afternoon. I. llariford (6min.) soon overtook the limit men and retained his lead throughout the race, finishing 1-Jmin ahead of the next two; his time was 41J in in. C. AA’eller (scr) and N. Hearsay (3min.) deadheated for second place; both runners were in fine form. C. AA’eller obtained fastest time (37niin.) and N. Hearsay second fastest (40min.). AA’eller finished very strongly and passed six runners over the last half-mile. T. Langley (7min.), A. Newlands (4Jmin.)) J. Scott (3min.), C. McVicar (4min.), and R. Moore (7min.) finished close, behind in the above order. Only 2osec. elapsed between the second and eighth men home. Next Saturday an inter-club race will bo held against the AA’anganui club.
