(From Our Own Correspondent.) APITI, June 28. FOOTBALL DANCE. The footballers hold their annual ball on Thursday evening. There was rather a disappointing attendance, due no doubt to the foot that many peoplo are away on holiday. Howover, all present, spent an enjoyable even in a Supper was served and the M.C.’s were Mossrsß. Vile., C. McKay and D. Kearney. FOOTBALL. This week-end the annual seven-a-side tourney was held in Kirnbolton. Apiti was early astir and the township presented an animated appearance with the car-loads of players and supporters leaving soon after 9 3() am Seniors entered one team as follows —C. McKay, Jim Eliot, D. Harland. J. Cantwell, E. Osborne, J. Wingate and D. Kearney. This team beat Kirnbolton B 11 to nil: then Waituna A beat Apiti sto nil The final was between Waituna -\ and Rangiwahia A, the latter being victorious 8 to nil. Next week the seniors will be playing Kirnbolton on Kirnbolton s ground. Apiti juniors bad two teams playing The A team was as follows:—R. McKay. E. Kearney. A. Vilcs, A. Harland, P. Jackson. B. Forbes, and A Cowan. B. team: N. Cochburn, B. Enright R. Forbes, L Hogan, V. Wildbore, F. Vilrs and I«. Buekman. The A team was beaten by Rangiwahita A in the first, game. Jiio B team was more ‘.successful .and was only beaten by Rangiwahia A in the final. In the primary school sttlion the A team wans follows: W. Wildbore, E. Wildbore, R. Harland, I. Osborne, P. Kearney, R. and D. Stewart. This team was a great combination and went through with hying' colours and no points against them. In the final they boat Waituna, A 8 to nil. Apiti B (primary school section) : I'. Malone, C. Hogan, M. Osborne. T. Loudon, T. Doughty, R. Prince, and K. McMillan. This team was bcaton in one ct the early games, hut considering the sire did not do so badly.
