RAIL CAR SERVICES

USE ON MORE SECTIONS. MINISTER’S ANNOUNCEMENT. Per Pi •ess Association. NAPIER, June 29. The ■ Minister of Railways (Hon. D. G. Sullivan) announced to-day that rail cars will he introduced on the following railway sections as soon as the construction of the cars is completed : NORTH ISLAND. Wellington-Napier-Wairoa - Gisborne line. Between 'Wanganui and Marton. Between 'Wellington and Palmerston North. On the Palmerston North-Waipuku-rau-Napier route. The Taneatua-Tauranga-Paeroa line. The section between Frankton Junction and Ohakune. These services would he additional to those already announced as being provided for in the service between Wellington and New Plymouth.

SOUTH-ISLAND. On the Christchurch-Waiau and Christchureh-Parnassus lines. Dunedin-Seacliff-Oamaru line. Between Christchurch, Greymouth and Hokitika. The Otago Central line between Dunedin and Cromwell. Several services would also be provided in the Southland district for use between Invercargill-Lunmleii, Kingston and Gore.
