WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES.
Trading was brisk on tho Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, and a substantial turnover was recorded, sales covering 33 parcels totalling more than 4400 shares. Business was well spread over industrial and trading issues. Prices showed little movement. I hero was a moderate demand for Government loans, which were generally steady on late rates. Bank issues were dull, and on the weak side. Now Zealand were a shade firmer at 44s 4d, sellers asking 44s 9d, and 26s 2d was offered for the D long-term mortgage issue. Union had buyers in at £lO lbs, sellers asking 2s higher. Commercial of Australia ordinaries wero unchanged at. 18s 2d, sellers 18s 4d, and £9 Is was offered for tho preference issue. Goldsbrough Mort. weakened to 34s 9d, and Gear Meat wore wanted at 15s Bd. Broken Hill Proprietary firmed to business at 81s 4d, buyers staying in at 81s. G. J. Coles continued easy, business being done at £5 2s 9d to £5 2s 3d with more wanted at tho latter price. Mount Lyell were firmer, and Mount Morgan moved up to business at 13s. YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS.
