WATER SUPPLY CUT
PENNYSLVANIA EXPLOSION. STEEL PLANT STOPS WORK. SOLDIERS GUARD HIGHWAYS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph .—Copy right.) Received June 30, 9.45 a.m. NEW YORK, Juno 29. A message from Johnstown (Pennsylvania) states that two mysterious explosions cut off the main water supply to the Bethlehem Steel Corporation’s plant and forced the suspension of operations in the middle of the back-to-work movement, „ which the company claimed had restored their operations to normal. .Investigators said that the dynamite had apparently been placed under the stone water tunnels in the mountains a few miles from the city. Hie blast shattered the windows in homes within a quarter of a mile radius. There was no one injured. The strike leaders liavo denied responsibility. They said they deplored the incident. Two hundred soldiers have been assigned to guard the highways and search all motor vehicles. A military investigation has been ordered at the plant, which is expected to shut down tor a fortnight.
