TOUR BY ROYALTY.
POSITION INDEFINITE.
NO CONSIDERATION GIVEN.
LONDON, July 22. The Australian Associated Press learns on the highest authority that Their Majesties have been too busy to consider further the possibility of a Dominions tour. The position is still indefinite. New Zealand’s centenary is too far ahead to discuss the question of a visit. Hitherto the question has not been raised.
A cablegram received in May stated that the Australian Associated Pross agency learned that as a result of soundings already taken, a visit of the King and Queen to the Dominions not later than 1940 seemed assured. . It was gathered that Their Majesties were most enthusiastic at such a prospect, especially as it would be the first, time m history that a reigning Monarch had visited tlio Dominions. , . It-was realised that Their Majesties wolud first go to India for a durbar, probably in the autumn of 1938. consequently they could hardly begin their Dominion visits before the end of 1339 at the earliest.
