SUCCEEDS GENERAL MOLA.— General Fidel Davila has been appointed to succeed General Emilio Mola, northern rebel commander who met his death in an aeroplane crash near Burgos, Spain. General Mola was recognised as General Franco’s right-hand man and his death is regarded as a serious blow to the rebel cause.
