ANTI-SUBMARINE WORK. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received July 24. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, July 23. A plan to train merchant navy officers in defence, including convoying, anti-submarine and anti-gas measures, mine-protection and gun drill, was announced by Mr Euan Wallace, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Board of Trade, at a Merchant Navy luncheon at Southampton. Training centres for volunteers are being established at various ports in the United Kingdom.
