FEILDING STOCK SALE.

PRICES ADVANCE. FAT SHEEP KEENLY SOUGHT. Keen bidding for the fat sheep offered at fho Feilding stock sale yesterday resulted in prices showing a sharp advance. There was a fair yarding of fat sheep which included some pens of extra good quality and "•eight, and for these prices were up about, 2s per head as compared with those-of last week. Lines disposed cf included the following offerings:—

FAT lIOGGETS. A pen of three extra prime heavy-woollcd and weighty hoggets, estimated to produce 701 b meat, offered by 11. W. Smith, sold at 345.

Mrs C. M. Loon’s 40 b.f.’s of even weight, well forward and woolly, reached 33 s. Only four in the pen, a line on account of Mrs Sowerby showing good condition realised 325. Six woolly hoggets bred by K. Vilos made 27s sd; they were well forward and carried heavy fleeces.

H. C. Hare's two pens of 9 and 23 re spcctivelv made 25s 8d and 245. J. Gcrke’s three woolly hoggets sold at 25s 6d. Sixteen woolly and forward hoggets on account of T. Nolan, made 26s 9d.

A line cf seven light but healthy hoggets on account of D. P. Buchanan realised 23s 9d. Small, but carrying good fleeces, a lino of 17 hoggets on account of A. S. White made 20s 9d. Fifteen on account of Mrs C. M. Leon, weighty and in heavy wool, made 24s 7d. A similar quality line on account of Mr Bryce made 24s 9d.

Twenty-seven black-faces of uneven weights changed hands at 23s 9d, and anther line of 23 light wool but meaty hoggets at 24s 4d. Five woolly. good-diancd sheep of even size, on account of G. Firth, made 23s 6d, while another nine on account of the same vendor, but small and only barely covered, were disposed cf at 22s lOd. Twelve fair-quality liognrcts. small and shorn, on account of J. L. Ferguson, sold at 21,s lOd. Mrs Beard quitted a line of 13 at 21s 9d. W. A. Mntheson got 22s Id ior a pen of nine good fleshy hoggets.

FAT WETHERS. 11. C. Ilarc topped the market for wethers with a pen of 23 beautifully grown sheep which, after spirited bidding, realised 39s 2d; 12 on account of he same vendor sold at 35s Id and 10 at 34s 6d. Pens of 35, 22 and 12, on account of W. J. Harris, made 33s 7d, 32cs 2d and 29s 6d respectively. A small pen of prime wethers from I’ll hiatna made 27s Id, while extra prime con dition lines from the same district realised 33s and 33s 4d. - . A similar quality pen offered by Mr Maxwell made 35 s 6J. ... Two pens on account A. K. Simpson brought 28s' 6d and 28u 9d. ' FAT. EWES, i : ' A single ewe on account W. F. A’ilcn brought the top price; 33s 9d. D. P, Biichanan’fj pen of 10. secured the next top price, 335. A. B. Miles received 32s lOd rot- a pen of 12. A small pen on account: of Mr Rasmussen realised 31s 6d. as did also a pen of 4 on account W. F. Vila,, Colytoi). Sixty-two on account of Mr Maxwell sold at 29s Id and 34 on account of A. E. Bailey ai 31s. A pen of five at 26s 6d -were sold on account of 11. (J. Hare, and three at 26s 2d on account of ID. Vowlcs, T. Nolan got 2ch 9d for a pen of seven and 24s 9d for a pen of 16. Two |Xiii6 containing 31 and 16, on ac count of R. Burrell, sold at 22s 6d and 26s 5d respectively. A dozen on account of J. L. Ferguson made 21s 10J. „ Twenty-eight on account of A. K. Of the above, the pens offered by Air Rowe and Mr Davis were decidedly ■ superior in quality to the remainder and between the two vendors’ lines there "at little to choose.

KWE AND W’ETHEU LAMBS. Thirty good, well-grown cwo lambs sold at 35s and 28 on account of O. J. Oldfield made 365. W. Ross got 34s for 36 good quality ewe lambs. Seventy-seven woolly ewe lambs on account of IT. D. Campbell made 31s 3d. Another line of 32 wether lambs on account or O. J. Oldfield made 24s 2d. One hundred and eighty-seven wether lambs sold on account of Mrs A. Beazer realised 21s 7d. , Thirty ewe lambs on account of C. A. Masters sold at 35s 9d and a smaller pen at 28 s. A heavy yarding of fat cattle included some very prime beef lots, and for these, as for the ox-dairy breed?, the demand was very good. 'The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Cov., Ltd. (Inc. in Eng.) report as follows: —All entries in the sheep sections, although in excess of advertised numbers, "ere smaller than those of last week. Breeding ewes filled two races, hut with few exceptions wore of tho aged variety and lacked bloom, The presence of Waikato buyers assisted in keeping the market fully up to late rates. In the store lamb section the quality throughout was good and competition keen, particularly for top class wethers, which advanced by Is Cd to 2s on last week’s rates. There was also an unsatisfied demand for ewe lambs, and values wore very firm. The smaller entry in the fat sheep .section was responsible Jor a definite firming in tho market, especially for ewes. A very heavy yarding of dairy cattle was handled, cows being in the majority, lloifers sold very well and cows wero about on a par with last week. An extra largo penning of store cows ox-dairy sold fully up to tho standard of late sale rates, whilst fat cattle, the entry of which consisted mainly of cons, made a sharp rise of about £1 jx-r head. There were not any run cattle yarded.
