EXPLOSION IN MID-AIR.
FATALITY IN SWEDEN 1
’PLANE PILOT DROWNED,
Received July 24, 9.40 a.m. STOCKHOLM, July 23. After an explosion in mid-air, a military ’plane crashed in pieces in Lake Vottern and the pilot was drowned; the observer was rescued. The machine was engaged in machine-gun exercises. Jt is believed that the propeller was shot away, causing the motor to race and explode.
