GOLFER’S COMPLAINT.

NO INSINCERE APOLOGY. NEW YORK, July 24. The professional golfer,’ Ralph Guldahl, replying to a demand by the Professional Golfers’ Association threatening suspension unless he apologised for his statements concerning English crowds, said:- — “The only thing to which Britain and American sportsmen could object would be insincere and forced apologies in a matter that has been magnified far beyond a reasonable proportion.” Guldalil, who returned with the Ryder Cup players, expressed intensely antiBritish feelings. In a statement he said: “It is my first trip over, and I hope I never see tho British again. They not only cheer when you miss a shot, but crowd around you so as not to give you a chance to make it.”
