CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

“Truth” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was Psalms 117 :2: “The truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.” (Psa. 100:1, 5.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “In Science, Truth is divine, and the infinite God can give no unlikeness. Because Truth is infinite, error should be known as nothing. Because Truth is omnipotent in goodness, error, Truth’s opposite, has no might. Evil is but the counterpoise of nothingness. The greatest wrong is hut a supposititious opposite of the highest right.” (pp. 287, 367.)
