DEATHS ON THE ROAD.
TRAFFIC PROBLEM IN N.S.W. SYDNEY, July 25. Tn addition to four fatal road accidents yesterday, a score more were injured, including the rector of St. James’s Pro-Cathedral, the Rev. Cecil King, aged 75, who was struck by a car, suffering a fractured jaw and nose and extensive cuts and abrasions. The Premier (Mr B. S. Stevens) has called a conference of traffic experts to evolve methods of reducing accidents and making thoroughfares safer for pedestrians. The Premier is also introducing legislation to limit the speed of motor vehicles in the metropolitan area to 30 miles an hour and elsewhere to 50 miles.
