A secondary depression is now crossin" the southern portion of the South Island. An intense anti-cyclone covers most of Australia and is extending on to the north Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds variable at first, but later south-westerlies again setting in. and freshening. Weather: Cold and changeable, with occasional light showers. .Seas moderate, but later rising. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon. —3ft. Gin.
