DETECTIVE’S FEAT.

NEW FINGERPRINT DISCOVERY. NEW YORK, July 24. A revolution in crime detection is foreshadowed after official tests of a system devised by Mr Robert Heger. The system is believed to enable police to describe a criminal from an analysis of his finger-prints. Mr Heger, after studying prints o( four criminals whom lie had never seen, wrote accurate detailed descriptions of them. In one instance he gave the man’s height within an inch, and his weight within 51b. He also described the criminal’s gait, the colour of hip hair, his eyes, and his complexion.
