The intense anti-cyclone which has been moving across Australia during the past few days is extending over the Tasman Sea, especially the northern portion. At the same time, the depression to the eastward is passing away. Pressure has therefore risen considerably over the Dominion. A series of slight secondary depressions continues, however, to cross the South Island, Forecast: Rather variable but moderate to strong south-westerly or southerly winds predominating. Weather cold and changeable with occasional showers at most places. Snow on the ranges and some hail. Seas rough. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon. —3ft. Gin.
