Dnlgety and Co.’s annual review or tlie New Zealand wool trade states that 686,991 bales were sold up to June dU and there were 15.198 bales on hand, consisting principally of crutclungs and oddments which had since been practically disposed of. Shipments on account of the grower were 60,847 bales, Including 47,988 bales of greasy wool. ,4)'lie gross proceeds from New Zealand sales were £15,344,231. Ihe average price per bale was £22 6s 8(1, and the price per lb was 15.71 d. There was an increase in the value of disposals o\er last year of £5,260,934. . Of the total purchases in New Zealand for the twelve months the United Kingdom took 245,626 bales; Japan, China and India 122,769 p tlie United States and Canada 114.513; New Zealand manufacturers 24,289; local_ scourers 25,807, and Australia 14,J8i.
