Boarders and old pupils of the Feilding Agricultural High School played a Rugby football match yesterday afternoon on the school ground. The boarders’ team had a narrow victorv, winning the game by 18 points to 17. ‘ During the week-end the following representatives of the Feilding Golf Club will proceed to Dannevirke for a match against the Dannevirke Club: V. J. Stichbury, P. H. Sinclair, J. B. Duthie, E. Al. Hare, K. G. Salmond, J. G. Connell, L. Gorton, J. Graham, R. H. Farquharson, G. Af. Aloffitt, AV. Seifert, L. Al. Giesen, L. J. Carmine, S. A. Gover, C. H. Tate, A. C. Alc.Corkindale, R. L. Harding, H. Smith, E. J. AA’ilson, T. Donaldson. G. L. Ewe, S. H. Sauer, 11. Al. Duthie, and K. A. Haybittle. Exactly twice as many building permits for dwellings were issued by the Feilding Borough Council in June, 1937, as there were for June, 1936. Concluding his address at the Commemoration Dav celebrations at the Feilding Agricultural High School yesterday, Air F. AV. Gilligan, headmaster of the AA’anganui Collegiate School, congratulated the pupils on their singing. “I wisli also,” ho said, “to congratulate the readers of the Lessons on their clear enunciation. It is .an excellent thing for young people to enunciate well so that everybody could sit back and hear every word clearly pronounced. It was excellent reading indeed.”
Visitors to Feilding who are interested in golf will appreciate the sign indicating the local golf links, which has just been erected in a conspicuous position.
