ARREST AT WANGANUI.

SEQUEL TO 'MAN’S INJURIES. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, July 29. A search on the Wanganui river todav in the vicinity of Jerusalem by a force of police directed by DetectiveSergeant J. K. Robertson and Detective J. Murray resulted in the arrest of a Maori woman, Kathleen Walton, aged 38, who is to appear on a charge relating to the wounding ot A. It. Davey, an upriver settler, yesterday Davoy a married man ,living apart from his wife, was found yesterday suffering from a sovere wound m the chest. This morning he was removed to the Wanganui Public Hospital in a St John Free Ambulance, and his condition is reported now to be comfortable. The Maori woman arrested is stated to be his housekeeper.
