(From Our Own Correspondent.) - FOXTON. July 26. Mr and Mrs L. C. Bryant have left on a holiday visit to Napier. Misses I‘. McKenzie and E. Walls have returned after spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs Christie, of Petone is spending a holiday with her daughter. Mrs,W. Ogden,;' The funeral. of tho late Mrs O. Coiey took place on Saturday afternoon. Numerous and beautiful wreaths boresilent testimony to .the esteem in .which she was held. Services at the house and graveside were conducted by Rev. Mr Davies, of Levin. The pall bearers were Messrs J. Coley, senr. and junr., G. Colcv senr and junr., C. Petersen, and R. Easton. Tho Manawalu Heads branch of the New Zealand Labour Party has raised £7 10s for tho Permanent Health Camp fund. A most enjoyable social evening, organised by the memlners ol All Sainls’ choir, was held on Friday evening. A special combined meeting of .members of the Bowling, and Croquet Clubs was presided over by Mr M. E. Pcrreau. It was held for the purpose, of considering ways and means of raising funds . for ground improvements ami it was decided to hold a bazaar in October. Upon the retirement of the Croquet C.ub members, the chairman referred to tile passing ot Mr Tawhai Eruera, in late years a valued membpr of the Bowling Club, and it was resolved that a letter be sent to Mrs Eruera. A short period of silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased.
