WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Markets wore quiet on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, and the recorded turnover was small. Government loans were fully firm on an active demand, but sellers were bard to find and dealings were restricted to three small parcels. There was little improvement in bank shares, which were dull and neglected. Now Zealand recovered to business at 44s Bd. New South Wales moved up to £34 10s on the dividend announcement. Commercial of Australia were weaker at 18s, sellers 18s 3d. Abraham and Williams were firmer, buyers offering 90s for the preference and 57s 6d for the ordinaries. Goldsbrough Mort were steadier at 35s 9d. Meat freezing shares continued in active demand at steady rates. Timber and coal issues were neglected. Breweries were quiet, and offers of 50s 3d for New- Zealand found no response. Australian Glass were fully firm at 945. but sellers staved Old. Broken Hill Proprietary weakened to 80s 9d, sellers 81s 6d. Other industrial and trading issues showed little movement. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
