SANDON PARK BOARD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, July 31. Mr J. H. Perrett. chairman of the Sandon Public Park Board presided over a meeting on Thursday. Other trustees present were: Messrs W. E. Pearce and H. J. Fagan and the assistant-secretary, Mr S. L Orr. A communication was received from Mr L. C. Ellerm tendering his resignation as a member of the Public Park Board and the Cemetery Board. It was resolved that a letter be sent to Mr Ellerm advising him that his resignation was received with regret, and that appreciation of his long years of service be placed on record. It was decided that Mr J. C. Fagan be elected to succeed Mr Ellerm. Mrs D. Eglinton, acting secretary of the Women’s Institute, wrote thanking the board for remitting portion of the hall rent for a recent function held by the institute.—Received. Mr A. S. Reeve was appointed caretaker of the hall in placo of Mr E. J. Bowater, who resigned his position. A deputation representing the recently appointed hall committee, comprising Messrs J. C. Fagan and E. N. Butler, waited on the board. A suggestion that the'- box in the hall be removed was agreed to. The chairman moved the following resolution, which was seconded by Mr Fagan: “That the management of the hall bo vested in a committee of residents with Mr Fagan as chairman and Mr Butler a.s the secretary, with power to raise money for the improvement of the hall, and to do all those things in connection with tho management ueualiy done by the trustees, this arrangement to remain in force at tho pleasure of the trustees; that all moneys collected for tho improvement of tho hall be paid to the secretary of the trustees, but that the expenditure of same be vested in tho committee with tho proviso that no major improvement be effected without first consulting the trustees; ulbo, that the caretaker be placed under the control of the committee for his ordinary duties, but that ho be responsible to the trustees for the collection of all rents and moneys owing in connection with tho use of the hall. Ail moneys collected to be paid to the secretary of the trustees within 7 days of collection.”
