DOMINION SURFMEN.
INVITATION BY AUSTRALIA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 31. A team representative of Dominion surfmen is to go to Australia next February, the Council of the New Zealand Life-Saving Association having accepted an invitation to send a team of ten men and a manager. Mr G. Miller, secretary of the Australian body, in officially extending tbe invitation, said it was desired that the team should make appearances at Saturday afternoon carnivals on February i 9 and 2G and at a night carnival at Coogee that week. The amount of fianancial assistance ,the Australian ltody is prepared to offer is not yet definitely settled, but it is definite that they will pay all the accommodation for"the team' when in Australia and also give some assistance m the matter transport from and to New Zealand. It is hoped to have teams present representing the various Australian States. The acceptance of the invitation is subject to the finalising ol financial arrangements. It has been decided to hold the New Zealand championships at Christchurch on January 29 and 30.
