CRUISE UNDER ICE.

SIR H. 'WILKINS’S PLANS. NEW YORK, July 30. Sir Hubert Wilkins has arrived and announced further details of his Arctic submarine. It will cost 125,000 dollars to build and an extra 25,000 dollars for its operation. The submarine will be 75ft long and 14ft in diameter. Sir Hubert said lie planned to start from Spitzbergen next May and possibly make a cruise under the ice of 2200 miles to Alaska. He ivas confident that with an electric drill he would be able to cut holes in the ice through which an observer could come to the surface from the submarine.
