PLAY AT HOKOWHITU. At the Hokowhitu golf links at the week-end an unofficial four-hall bogey handicap arranged by the Mnnawatu Golf Club’s professional, J. R. Galloway, was the only open competition. .The winning card whs that of J. Hornabrook and N. G. Ingram, who finished 6 up. The leading scores were as under :—J. Hornabrook and N. G- Ingham, 6 up; W. J. Goodwin and W. Smith. 5 up; G. H. Lusk and M. H. Oram, junr., 4 up; M. A. Ongley and J. E. Rodden. 3 up; E. R. Chapman and D. McKenzie, M. H. Oram and T. M. Young, 2 up.Hornabrook has commenced preparing for the New Zealand championships and the defence of the amateur title. His rounds have been consistently good and a 74 during the weekend was better than the figure indicates. MATCH AT NAPIER. An inter-club match between the teams representing the Manawatu and Napier Golf Clubs will he played at Napier next week-end. The Manawatu team will be as follows : J. P. Hornabrook. W. J. INTER-CLUB MATCHES. PALMERSTON NORTH AND RANGTTIKEI. The Palmerston North Golf Club was engaged on Saturday in matches with the Rangitikei club (Bulls), the A teams meeting at the Awatapu links and the. B teams at Bulls. Both courses were in perfect order and the visitors to Bulls were enthusiastic in theii praise of the Rangitikei club’s new course. The singles at Awatapu were halve" but Palmerston North won the four ball matches, while at Bulls the singles were also halved and P%hncrston North lost all the four-hall games. Results are as follow, Palmerston North players being mentioned first;— AT AWATAPU. Singles.—Ramsay lost to N. Amon, Walsh lost to G. Drew, Vannini Jost to R. Scott, Cater heat A. Anion, Kells beat L. Ramson, Wills heat Webster, Cook heat G. Bertram, Scott lost to A. Drew. Four-hall.-—Ramsay and Walsh lost to Amon and Drew, Vannini and Cater heat Scott and Anion, Kells and Wills heat Ransom and Webster, Cook and Scott beat Bertram and Drew. AT BULLS. Singles. Fletcher halved with Tricker, Hume lost to R. Carter, Anderson lost to E. Carter, Wilson heat Young, Lawson lost to Collier, Hill, senr., heat Sapler, Warwick heat Flower, Denby halved with Mitchell, Bull halved' with Field. Four-ball. —Fletcher and Hume lost to Trieker and R. J. Carter, Anderson and Wilson lost to E. Carter and Young, Lawsctn and Hill lost to Collier and Sapler, Denhv and Ball lost to Mitchell and Field. ESSEX-FLETCHER TROPHY. The fourth and final round of the Essex-Fletcher trophy was played by the Palmerston North Club during the week-end, the results being as follow; R. Elliott and Miss Ferguson, 4 points ; H. Bennett and Mrs Anderson, 3 points; E. Simpson and Mrs Cook, 2 points; C. Anderson and Mrs Wilson, 1 point.
