WELLINGTON MEMBERS’ VISIT. The Palmerston North Y.M.C.A. younger men’s department, winch recently went to Wellington to play against tho 70 Club of that association at basketball, were favoured on baturdaV with a return visit worn the club. Also with this team were the Wellington Y.M.C.A. senior basketball representatives, the latter against the Palmerston North younger men’s department A team. The basketball games were very keenly contested and resulted ns follow \ v Wellington A team (J. Hanna, H-.W-McConchie, J. Cameron, D. Niven and S. Niven) 34 v, Palmerston N orth A team (N. Metcalfe, R- „ ; King, V. Rabone and A. Leadei) 21, Wellington B team (E. Honour, M. Lane, W. Sloan, W. McKenzie and J. Riloock! 31 v. Palmerston North a team (W. Cronin, J Hunt, P Jordan, J. Pizzey and W. Orchard) 23. The visiting teams were later entertained at a dance held in their honour. A crowd of approximately one hundred was present at the gymnasium when to the strains of a profession orchestra, a very pleasant dance was enjoyed. A Monte Carlo dance was won try Miss M. O’Brien and Mr R. Scales. Mr L. Gittings, younger men s secretary, welcomed the vimtors, and Mr J. Hanna replied on behalf of the Mel 11 net,on players. Messrs P. Jordan and J I’izzey were the M.C.’s. The visitors returned to the Capital City on Sunday, after having expressed their ap preciation of their stay.
