THIRD GRADE
TO PLAY OROUA. The Mannwatu third grade representative team to play Oroua juniors at Podding at 1.15 next Saturday are: — Full-back, Ewen (F. 0.8.) ; threequarters, Collins (K.T.), Guthrie (F. 0.8.), Alsop (United); five-eighths, Goodall (St. P.), Barker (United); halt-back, Poach (St. P.) ; black row, Mitchell (United) ; second row, Dustin (Old Boys), Webb (Fid.), Wells (Fid.), Clements (St. P.); front row, Thomson (Old Boys), Wealleans (Fkl.), Bacon (K.T.). Emergencies.—Backs. Bradley (Old Bovs), Thurston (F.H.S.) : forwards, Fo'wles (F. 0.8.), Arnott (K.T.). The bus leaves from opposite the P.O. at 12.30 sharp. Feikling players to be at the grounds at 1 o’clock. Any player who is not available is asked to ring the llugby Union secretary. High School players were not available for selection. ST. PATRICK’S WIN.
St. Patrick’s beat Old Boys by 5 points to 3 in a third grade match played as a curtain-raiser to the senior fixture at the Showgrounds. Roach, the St. Patrick’s half-back, formerly of Silverstrcam, scored a very pretty try when he danced through the opposition, and Clifford converted. Jeffree kicked a penalty goal for Old Boys. Mr A. Neville was the referee.
