FEILDING STOCK SALE.
The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the Feilding sale: —In the fat sheep section the entry was well above advertised numbers; the offering of fat hoggets was .for the most part medium, all lots celling at late rates. Competition for prime wethers and ewes was very keen, particularly for ewes, and the market showed a rise of from 2s to 3s on the previous week. As is to bo expected owing to be oxpcctcd owing to, the clc*encfa of the lambing season the yarding of imlanib ewes was smaller. Not many outside buyers were operating in this section and last sale values -were barely sustained. There was a keen demand for hoggets and, except for odd lines of medium sorts, values all round showed a further firming. In the owo lamb class Mr E. Green at 38s 7d topped the market for this season with a line of well grown, good conditioned sheep. Mr T. R. Willis’s entry in the wether lamb section at 26s 9d also obtained the host price this year. A heavy offering of daffy stock met with an in and out sale. A good proportion of the entry comprised backward sorts, which mot with a dragging sale. The quality of the station bred beef was not up to last sale and the market consequently barely reached the previous week’s values. Competition was keen for, prime sorts ex dairy, and prices were fully firm on late sales. Quotations; Fat hoggets, prime, 25s 6d to 28s 7d; medium, 23s 6d to 24s 9d; plain, 20s 3d to 21s 6d.
