PIG MARKETING
CONFERENCE OF ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, July 30. The opinion that the future of the pig industry in New Zealand was bound up with bacon production was affirmed at the annual conference of tho New Zealand Cooperative Fig Marketing Association. Delegates were present from all parts of the Dominion, and many important decisions, were reached. It was agreed that the Dairy Board was a more desirable budy than the Moat Board to control directly dairy farm and meat products, and this course was strongly urged. That disease was costing pig producers £200,000 a year was stated by Mr W. A. Phillips, chairman of directors, in stressing tho need for protecting the pedigree buyer. A remit to the effect that, breeders should have all slock tested for disease before being sold was carried.
