EXODUS FROM LONDON.
BANK HOLIDAY WEEK-END. MANY VISIT CONTINENT. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 2, 11.35 a.m. RUGBY, July 31. The railway companies made careful preparations to deal with the enormous crowds leaving London and other centres for the Bank Holiday week-end. The exodus of travellers started yesterday and all the principal expresses were run in several parts. Automobile Asso-i ciation scouts recorded am, average of 10,000 cars an hour leaving London’s principal exits. This year the Continental bookings reached pre-depression level. It is estimated that 30,000 people are travelling to the Continent to-day alone. BANK HOLIDAY IN N.SiW. Received August 2. 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY. Aug. 2. It is Bank Holiday in New South Wales to-day.
