SUMMARY OF THE SESSION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 1. During the session which, according to present arrangements, will be brought to a close immediately Parliament reassembles on October 21, 15 Government' and 11 private members’ Acts reached the Statute Book. Notable among these measures were the new Factories Act, modernising older legislation on this subject, the Ministers of the Crown Act, revising the salaries of Cabinet Ministers, and the Local Government Financial Provisions Act, giving assistance to necessitous counties and boroughs amounting to £2,250,000 yearly, and the physical training legislation and the Government’s proposals for a fitter Britain. . In a place by itself stands Edward VIII’s Declaration of Abdication Act.
